About

2018-04 WKpro-8148As a writer in the College of Letters & Science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, I craft stories about students discovering their passions, faculty pursuing their life’s work and alumni at the top of their game.

At Northerly, a website celebrating family life in Wisconsin that I co-founded and edit, I write and share stories highlighting the diversity of ways parents approach raising kids in the Midwest.

I’m also a freelance travel, arts and features writer for a variety of publications, and my first book, 100 Things to Do in Madison Before You Die, highlights the coolest and most timeless elements of the city, bucket-list style.

Previously, I served as the managing editor of Madison Magazine, where I chronicled the city’s dynamic art scene, covered lifestyle topics, worked with freelance writers on perfecting their stories and collaborated with designers to create the unique magic of words and images coming together. I also appeared weekly on WISC-TV in a Live at Four segment touting the best things to do each weekend in the city.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with honors and degrees in journalism and art history, and earned a master’s degree in journalism from Stanford University.
